Internships at Essential Public Media

Internships at Essential Public Media

While the newsrooms of commercial radio and television stations and newspapers are shrinking, public media, driven by mission, continue to grow in their effort to explore real issues, gather all perspectives and engage citizens.

To meet an ever-expanding demand for quality news programming, we need new talent, more diverse voices, producers and contributors in all public media departments.

That is why Essential Public Radio (EPR) has created a new broadcast journalism and media management internship program to build upon the long-standing 90.5 FM tradition of developing journalists, reporters, managers, and media academicians who are now working around the country.

Individuals with a strong interest in public media and a desire to help meet the information needs of our community are invited to apply for an internship with EPR. Internships are available in our award-winning news department; with the forthcoming daily news magazine/talk show Essential Pittsburgh; in developing web content; in operations and production; and, in marketing.
